George’s, ‘Carry On Camping’ weekend - Friday evening Sept 28th – Sunday morning Sept 30th 2012 Tallington Lakes, Stamford, Lincs, PE9 4RJ click for map Final arrangements
First of all, thank you to those of you who are joining us.
We are allowed on site on the Friday from 2pm onwards although I'm predicting that George and myself will probably be arriving at 4pm approx.
For any of you who are interested; we will be spending Friday morning (until 2pm approx) carp fishing at Lenton Lakes situated next to the A1 near Brampton, Cambs, should you wish to join us. Day tickets are £7 per person, see www.lentonlakes.co.uk for further details. Our venue for the remainder of the weekend (Tallington Lakes) is primarily used for watersports and therefore, combined with our time constraints, I wouldn't expect either the practicality or success rate of any fishing to be very high.
I'll be bringing plenty of sausage, bacon and bread rolls for breakfasts (let me know if you have any special dietary reqs). I'll also bring milk, tea and coffee so bring a mug!
Tentwise: My thoughts are that Andy H. and Dan will share, Keith can join them or myself and Paul. Paul has a tent for Andy C. and Trevor to share and I'm hoping that Matt and Phil might be able to share also. If there is any variation to this then I'm sure it won't be a problem to 'wing it' on the day!
We are thinking that we'll pay a visit to the local curry house on the Friday night. If you think that you will not be with us before 7:30pm then please let me know.
Overall cost will still be approx £80 per person which covers pitch fees, activities and breakfast ingredients. Between us we are also paying for George's weekend so the first round can be on him! You will require money for booze, lunch and evening meals although the buffet at the curry house is only £10 per head.
If you'd prefer to transfer me the money electronically that's fine (J D Eeles HSBC 40-20-23 71285580) or alternatively cash on the day will be fine also. If we say £80 per man for now please and I'll refund any difference on the day.
IMPORTANT: FOR SNOWBOARDING ARMS AND LEGS MUST BE COVERED AND GLOVES ARE MANDATORY AND NOT PROVIDED!
Wetsuits, however, are provided for the other activities.
